More Poppy Pieces

I've been reading more about the original Wizard of Oz books; I’m so entranced by the scene (after all these years) where Dorothy falls asleep in the poppy field. Remember that? (Try not to think about the flying monkeys!!!)

Ah and the omnipresent war poem by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae 'In Flanders Fields' where the poppies still grow is so hauntingly beautiful.

The poppy is one powerful flower used in literature. It has pulled me into its mysterious world, this poppy flower. I've got the bud of a new piece in my head and it's blossoming into a seemingly wonderful idea which I hope will turn into a tangible piece of art...soon!

Hail to the Poppy! (and all the other garden variety flowers...)

Thank you C from the Prairie (i hope your garden grows and grows!) and Pam, mommy of Dakota for your poppy ring orders! :-)

Oh, and on a more personal note my tongue has been twitching, yes twitching, for going on 5 days now. At first it was sort of fun, like an eye twitch. You know when you're sitting somewhere and it twitches so you grab your buddy next to you to be a witness to the freaky event? Then when he looks over, nada- the eye twitching has stopped?
My tongue has continued to twitch for all these days, IT JUST DID IT! I can't show you I can only describe how odd it is. It's now annoying and no longer fun. SO...I googled information about the tingling/twitching tongue and immediately began to do what I do so well...I went to the dark side and catastrophized. Longstoryshort I'm going to the docs next week (after speaking with a nurse from the practice) and if it's still there it'll be checked out.
(later I might hold it out in the mirror and see if it's actually visible.)

I have never read the Oz books (I have a lifelong fear of those flying monkeys). I'm adding that to my summer reading list.

Hope the twitching stops (I know that can be a side effect of some medications with longterm use). Hope you are okay.

So happy to see your poppies flying out of your shop, they really are beautiful.

I posted the big pictures of me in the bubble on my blog.

Twitching huh? Sounds annoying - hope it is nothing more than that - a passing annoyance!

Wanted to pop in and say I love your poppies creations! They are too cool and way sweet!

(and your blogitty-blob-blog looks different....no? the blue is very regal!)

I can't believe you hadn't looked in the mirror before now. Not to make fun, but now's the time for an ice cream cone. You may not even have to work very hard...... Sorry, you know I love you. (((hugs)))

I'm not afraid of no stinking flying monkeys....clowns, yes, but monkeys no.

Can't wait to get my new hand corsage.

No, no, no--never, ever read medical stuff on the web! Only bad things can come from it. I'm glad you're getting the twitch checked out, but I bet everything will be A-OK.

I love poppies, too.

Love your poppies Care and don't worry about your tongue, I am sure all is well but it's good you are getting it looked at.

I hope you get the twitghing thing figured out! That is SO annoying. My lower left eyelid has a very visible twitch that freaks my son out! LOL It does it often, and it bugs the crap out of me!

Carolyn, I made the big mistake of looking up possible outcomes of symptoms I had a little while ago on the net, only to make myself constantly fretful and very anxious, dreading the worst case scenario, till I visited the doctor.I'll never do that again!

Love your sweet poppy rings.I too find this flower pretty inspirational and managed to create my first series of oil paintings featuring the red flanders poppy. Very happy all round!

HI guys! Thanks for the reassuring words about my tongue twitch. I will never google another med quirk. you guys are soooo right, NEVER google a med question! omg... I took most the day off, and was obsessing over my tongue. Yes I was. When DH got home he asked me to show him. I let it rest like a lil pup on my lower lip and he saw it twitch and twitch. Freaky!
Tammy that is hilarious!!!
lol Pam, I dunno, I might wear out my tongue doing that!!! :P

i know one thing, no more stone licking!!!
