New Labradorite Hoops

I actually fell in love with this stone because of the countertop hubby and I chose for our kitchen re-do. My friend (who is a geologist) says moonstone and labradorite are one in the same, it makes sense, though I'd not heard it before.

Anyway, a listing I go...what do you think?

All Ye Female Golfers

Here's to hitting birdies!

Creativity - Calming or Stressful?

I'm having a very very OCD type of morning. Long story short we got a call from our sweet daughter last night (while having dinner with friends.) This is what I overheard hubby asking her "Can you describe the smoke? Is it thick? Is it white, black or what color is it?"

Our beloved daughter was making herself potatoes au gratin. She did everything according to the box directions. Somehow they turned out black and hard. (maybe we'll find out more details as the day progresses)Currently they are sitting on our balcony. (I'm not sure why)

So, I'm thinking of making a necklace in my studio between cleaning cycles of vinegar/water- lemon/water-baking soda cycles.

I think it will calm my OCD and spare my family members my nit picking. 2 orders came in from Etsy, which I'm so grateful for, but I can't start hammering yet (Sunday morning) and neighbors and all that...

an interesting side note, hubby kept his tee time....which means I get the microwave...I don't think stitches (of his own), burning down the house (don't you love that song?) or losing a toe would keep him from the Greens!

Obama vs McCain 2008

This will be an incredibly debate insightful tonight (so happy it was 'rescheduled'). I really do like both these men. I want Obama to come out on top for so many personal reasons.

Go Obama!!!

New Item - Triple Loop Necklace

Well how does it look? I wanted it to hang down instead of across, which I know is very "in" right now, but I wanted the opposite. Should I use my black and white poses as well? Or get more single shots of the piece alone? (you can be honest...*cough* Sandra, et al)

Totally Not Jewelry Related I'm having a "Cat" Day

One of those days where it's raining out, so you bake home made banana bread, laugh at all the political Late Night jokes, and cuddle with the kitties. I thought I'd feature one of our cats named Scrappy.

This is my cat, Scrappy, at 5 months, she has an extra long tongue, extra claws and is her brothers sister/cousin/aunti/etc...She's just so special and we love her. She's all grown up now and no longer suckles from her brother Bart's poor little kitten nipples (yes she did that for 9 months and he put up with it!). She's a little lady and I just wanted to give a shout out to my cat Scrap!

Yay Scrap!

The sucking on her brothers poor front area went on for about 9 months, the vet said "well, that's something!"

This is about midway for her tongue back in the 'salad' months, when she was a wee kitty.

This is me holding her at my friend Linda's house, but she'll say oh no that's not scrap that's so-and-so...

And finally below is the blackmail photo used to get hubby to agree to adopt her brother Bart (originally he was going to be named Chappy (so it seems from the pic)Oh, that's hubby as a fat little baby boy, isn't he just so cute???

Hoping for some Twisty Necklace Action

I sold a few of these on Etsy and want to reintroduce them. They are so FALL like, versitile and bendy. It's a special twisted technique I taught myself, and would love to do a video tutorial about them. Trying a new pic and going to dig up older pics...

Video on Fritz

AAAAAAAAAA! It works, but the sound has a horrible buzz. I wanted so badly do a before feature of my studio, and it was quite embarassing because it is a huge mess. Maybe (if I can find our large tripod) I can do it with photos. I've seen so many really really nice CLEAN studios on Etsy blogs, I thought it would light a fire under my bum to do a before/after video. I hope everyone's having a beautiful first day of Fall!

Every Outgoing Etsy Order is a Photo Op

I keep plugging away at the pics, hoping for that *just right*'s an update for this baby. Too light? Too dark? Too much stuff in the pic? Trying to get a festive sort of Holiday feel...

itisTIOTK's Custom Work

Custom sale, I'm so happy for her!!! Let this be the 2nd of many many many!!!

Fall Necklace from AutumnLeavesJewelry

Still trying to get that *look* for my shop, this was photographed with artificial lighting, tiny tripod, macro setting, delay setting, I think it turned out okay.
The necklace is made by me, (not the chain), the bezel setting, the wrapped wire around the bezel, all of it, I love this little cutie pie! The cab is your basic red stong, highly shined.

Leaf Silhouette in Sterling Silver Lariat

I plan to make lots of these; the versatility draws me in to so many ideas. This is a simple one of 2 leaves, some soldered small circles and a chain. Worn with a bright top would make this piece pop. What do you think? (I've heavily oxidized the whole piece)

Spinner Ring Give-Away

I thought it would be great to ease into September with a Holiday Give-away item. I thought about stacking rings, in various styles. Then realized if it were me hoping for something from my shop, I'd want one of my spinner rings. My first sale on Etsy came last fall so to celebrate my first 'sold item' anniversary I'd like to give away this ring. It is by far one of my favorites. It's chunky, but not overly, the word Dreamer is stamped along the outside of the ring and the spinner is a really pretty beaded sterling wire, hammered to a nice movable texture. (all sterling silver)
Please add your name in the comment section :-)
I'll print the names of the entries I receive and on October 30th pull the name of the random winner.

AutumnLeavesJewelry Video Featured in Etsy's Blog aptly named Storque

Morning, I was so happy to wake up to an email from one of my favorite people on Etsy, and find that Bre
(video/techy genius) used my first how-to as an example of getting started making how-to vids on Etsy. I am also happy to report that this type of exposure, making vids and getting involved with Etsy tools does pay off; it is a great form of self promotion!!! I woke to an Obama earring sale, and a woman in Norway would like a pair.

Anatomy of a Spinner Ring (Anticlastic Ring)

Hi! I hope to do a more in depth video on how I make my spinner rings. The first video will focus on what parts you will need to make a simple spinner in Sterling Silver. (I love making them, there are a few steps along the way that seem magical) I hope to convey these clearly for you!

Also look for a Holiday Spinner Ring Give-away, I'll be announcing that soon!

As always, your feedback is always welcome, (even if my hair is really bad in the vid!)
