New Silver Unisex Ring for Etsy

New Torch

Old one went kaput. (Twice flames shot out the sides, not a good sign.) This is another Blazer model, a bit of an upgrade from the last one. Having a bit of trepidation about filling her for the first time, but I need to get busy today. Also not feeling so well...is there a bug going around or just the crazy change in weather we're having?

Spring Fling Gold Rings

14k Gold Stacking Rings, slightly hammered, thin, size 8 1/4, 1mm wide they do feel so good! Still working on my photography skills. Hoping one of these pics will do for Etsy shop. Fruit or no fruit?

14k Gold Ring- Sarah's Ring

This sweeitie pie is heading across the pond. It was a bit of a challange to make as I started with 14k gold wire (not sheet gold) Since it was "pure" (in the sense it was new), I was able to melt it into an ingot. (Nick I'm going to melt my own ingot next time...pretty sure I can...) From there I rolled the ingot (annealing in between rollings) for the shape of the actual ring. Next came the spinners, also 14k gold, those were pretty easy. Because the ring is small in size (6) with a smaller band width, the rings had to be slightly hammered, yet kept round. It was a good week. My torch went kaput, so my friend Sandra was kind enough to let me use her studio 2 days in a row! Next on my list of things for studio, new torch. The draw plate will have to wait.

Dear Santa (yes its only March)

I would like the following for my studio at home:

(oh hold on, if you can't do it Santa, I'll accept them for Jack's 50th which is days away, or hubby's 50th, days away as well...) Both Jack and Hubby say "Wah wah wah, don't make a big deal out of my 50th!" Fine, I'll take the gifts...;p

Fields of Gold Pendant, Take II

Okay, enough of the frilly lacy background. Angelica was right, use the cast iron black teapot as a back drop. Under counter lighting. ...and most of the feedback I received about the use of tulle with this pieces was...well...it now has some other components I made/added today.

Gold Tree of Life Pendant for Etsy

I decided to go more delicate and step away from the rings...for now. I love trees, I love stylized art, and this seems to represent both. 14k gold is used for the leaves of the trees. The silver background is slightly stippled to give a sunny effect. The cut line and hole represent the stem and center of the gold flower. Fields of Gold

SZDesign and My Friend Sandra

I covet her pieces... She'll be the first to tell you (at the studio or elsewhere why a piece isn't working, in a very frank manner). She does this with a big smile on her face. She is sincere. It is a lovely quality.

Her style is chunky, yet she sneaks in some pretty petite element to balance, and it works. I've seen her put hours into a piece. I've been eyeing one of her heart pendants for...like...a year now. I don't know what to do to get hold of it, short of actually paying.

She gives me tons of tips when Nick isn't around. She's been doing this sort of work for years. And before that attended and graduated from F.I.T. in NYC.

She's new to Etsy, but not new to selling her pieces. Here's an example of what I love.

Her work can be found at SZDesign at Etsy

Sterling Silver Stacking Rings for Etsy

Similar to the 14k gold, a slight thinner gauge, still very striking!

Silver Un-Tension Tension Pendant

Oh the joy of flaring beyond the point of no return. This was made on purpose, I wanted to create a piece to show how the rings could possibly be holding the flared silver metal in place, or are they? The outer rings spin, it is a spinner, yet it's a spinner which looks to be burst open from tension. I oxidized everything but the outer rings.

Spinning Gold

Here's a 7.5 ring with 2 very petite gold bands, I tried morning (cloudy/sunny) light with artificial light...macro setting, timer on...listing this on Etsy today.
Problem with these pics...can't see the stipple pattern on the first pic.
