Valentines Earrings for Etsy Store

These were made by yours truly yesterday at the studio with our instructor making his rounds the way he does. I actually made several small items. Adding other elements to each hand cut heart piece such as circles, handmade ear wires, a hammering here and there, and oxidation, took away from that "cute" look.

You know just when it seems the days can't get much darker there's studio time around fellow artisans. Suddenly the moon dust is shaken from the hair and cotton disintegrates from the brain...amazingly, you think you make sense and can communicate. And when I say communicate I mean hold a conversation without feeling like you're in some thick hazy jello, imagine how the words travel through all that. Two nights ago..pPicture moving your Mini (because it's your turn to do the next chore and you just told hubby if he goes out with his slippers on he can't put them on the coffee table)to the carport because hubby received a high wind advisory via text. So you run back out to move the little Mini...(this right after escramming to UPS before they close to get daughters phone charger up to her dorm room in NYC where she just returned). Flash forward it's been a few minutes and gosh darn it if you're not on a secondary road deciding whether to hang a Louie or go right to some destination which is hidden in the cotton stuffed in your brain. (oh yeah, you remember the carport, not the airport) So you hand a U-ey and snuggle her back in and admit your blunder because it's been that long since you left.

Maybe yesterday I did behave this way in class (a little nutty maybe thick). Could there be collective cotton in all our brains? Nah I don't go for the collective conscience bs.

Strobist DIY Light Box

Instead of taking pics of the actual cardboard/vellum/taped light box I made, it seemed easier to link to my source. (and anyway, I'd have to neaten up my studio, bleh)

Anyone looking to sell jewelry or other small items online - it's sooo worth the time to make one of these babies. (or i suppose if you can afford it buy one)

I can already tell with my most recent pics the importance of using Adobe Photoshop, and a Halogen bulb.

Silver and Gold Earrings for Etsy Shop

Okay, second attempt with brighter background...these are miniature spinners made by yours truly with sterling silver and bands of 14k gold. Every piece of the earring is handmade by me, including the backings. A little further outside my spinner ring sphere?

Light Box Earrings Take One

oh dear, I can see why i need real poster board, shiny and white...not the back of an old print (as was used here for these earrings). Also, the first set I took (which i won't bore you with) came out darkish. Second set, which I've posted are lighter, all i did was pull the camera back further out of the box (doh!). The earrings are still not illuminating enough. Need another source of light, clip on methinks.

Set on Macro, no flash...Tripod.

At least the box is made, now i can focus (get it?) on what setting my jewelry will look best.

Watch the vid till the end, you'll be suprised what you see, and the music is fun. I'll post pics if i'm successful, if not, you'll see pics of my cats with their new toy.

Double Gold Band Sterling Silver Spinner Ring Size 7.5

Been busy, this is another Spinner Ring, with 14k gold bands, size 7-7.5

Added the stipple effect as in the ring I just listed. I really love this one, it fits me well at some point I'm going to claim one as mine. :-)

Off to Etsy it goes for a listing.

New Silver and Gold Spinner with Stipple Pattern

Ok I'm excited i stepped outside the box again and am super pleased with the look of this pretty ring. There is a specific pattern with the stippling on the Sterling Silver band which at first glance reminds me of twinkling stars.

The Spinner is a slightly hammered 14k gold band, and she does spin! :-)

This is a size 9/12 - 10

Hurry Up Sun

Bart wants out; he's circling the downstairs like John Wayne, he wants to git at his critters! Princess is following Bart's tracks, jingling her bells on her princess collar, not sure if he's leaving a scent for her? Fatty wants anything and everything, pick her up, she cries for more, stand still - she tries to claw her way up to your arms (she's insatiable), walk to the front door, they all come running like a herd of buffalo to a cliff. Puddy won't drink his milk this morning, that's a bit worrying.

How long does this artist have to wait till she can start hammering, drilling, soldering her latest swanky pair of earrings?

I need use of these items and more… dremmel the tumbler and some music thankyouverymuch.

Still on a sweet art high from yesterday at the studio in Alexandria. Love that class, the camaraderie (artists tend to feed off each other in some bizarre other worldly way), the joking, the occasional cussword as someone slams a digit into some piece of metal, or vice versa(never serious, just a whack here, a drill into skin there)...Nick coming round to help every person even if he does watch weird shows on BBCA.

Please let there be some morning sun for pics, please oh please.

Ready to put Fluorite Pendant on a chain for Etsy

I've worked on it for a long time, then set her aside. I kept thinking there was more she needed, but methinks she just needs a complimentary chain. What kind? Not just any chain will do, no no no, she needs something timeless and special.

Should I put her on Etsy as a Pendant, no chain? Would that be a "finding?" I'm not sure what to she a stone or do i call her mineral?

Someone Special bought This Ring

Notice which hand it's placed? Someone dipped her toes into the Dead Sea, was emersed in the Jordan River, felt a camels hump, found some old Roman Glass earrings she knew someone else would absolutely love and came home to talk about it.

Happy Birthday Jessie! 33, you're catching up to me ;p

14k Gold and Sterling Silver Spinner Ring (custom order)

Nothing like holding a torch to make a ring when it's cold enough to chatter your teeth...and you have to keep the studio window open, fan on. This turned out lovely. I still need to go in and use my dremel to do some slight sanding, then tumble again. Then it gets boxed for its new owner.
